Are you

  • A weightlifter, powerlifter, crossfitter, or general barbell enthusiast, looking to take your training to the next level?

  • In a training plateau with your strength and struggling to make progress on your own?

  • Aware that your technique is not quite right but are unsure how to correct it and can't commit to a one-on-one coach?

  • Looking for a more supportive and structured environment to improve your technique and build strength?

  • In need of a small-group of like-minded training partners to motivate and encourage you?

If you answered yes to any of the above, then Strength Club is the perfect place for you!

Our program is designed for weightlifters who have begun learning the Olympic lifts and powerlifts, but are looking for a structured and supportive environment to help them break through their plateaus and reach their goals. Our small-group coaching and structured programming provide the perfect balance of accountability, guidance, and motivation.

In Strength Club, you'll be training alongside like-minded individuals who are also working towards their strength goals, under the watchful eye of experienced and knowledgable Strength Coach Claire. The camaraderie and support of the group will help you push through heavy sets, and stay motivated. Coach Claire will be on hand to guide you and make sure you're getting the most out of each session.

"I joined Strength Club as a way to improve my technique and build strength. I had stopped progressing on my own and was looking for a more supportive and structured environment, and someone to help me with the technical aspects of the Olympic lifts. The small-group, structured programming, and guidance of Coach Claire were exactly what I needed to break through my plateaus and reach my goals. I highly recommend Strength Club to anyone looking to take their weightlifting to the next level. I am so glad I signed up for the sessions!" - Sarah

Don't let training alone hold you back any longer.

Meet Coach Claire

Meet Coach Claire

I've been training and competing in both Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting for over 10 years and have also accumulated many hours of experience coaching a number of clients in strength training, from a myriad of different backgrounds, including seasoned competitors and  complete beginners. I love the mind and body benefits of lifting heavy weights, and I love sharing my passion with other people

Why I started Strength Club

Having dabbled in Crossfit over the years, and coached a number of clients from the sport I noticed that the community aspect was what people loved and found so addictive, but that programming could be very hit and miss, with participants feeling absolutely wrecked after a WOD, and never actually seeing the strength and muscle gains they were chasing.

With Strength Club, I want to bring the community vibes of Crossfit - a small, friendly group, a supportive and knowledgeable coach, a whiteboard telling you what to do each session - but with more specific programming for strength and technique gains, with particular emphasis on barbell movements, whilst also incorporating elements of power development, hypertrophy, bodyweight, and kettlebell training as well. All those aspects that will leave you feeling strong, mobile, and resistant to pain and injury.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What will the classes involve?

The aim of the classes is to develop proper technique and build strength in the main barbell movements (squat, deadlift, bench, overhead press, row) and olympic weightlifts (snatch, clean+jerk), kettlebell movements (think swings, snatches, cleans, get-ups), and bodyweight exercises (pull ups, push ups, dips, etc). The aim is to build a strong, well-rounded body that looks great and is resistant to pain and injury, alongside other like-minded people. A typical session will include:

1. Comprehensive warm-up and mobility drills

2. Power development (such as olympic lifts and plyometrics)

3. Compound barbell movement for strength (squat, deadlift, press etc)

4. Accessory and assistance work

What does it cost after the Free Trial?

£20 per class, or £80 per month for unlimited classes

I've never done any lifting before - can I still come to the club?

Yes! Movements will be explained and demonstrated clearly. In particular, beginners should aim to attend a few Saturday 8am classes in the first instance, as these will go into more depth on the technique side where needed, in particular on the olympic lifts which take a little more time and patience to learn. Weekday classes will get straight into the lifting and strength work.

Do I need to book into classes?

Yes you do need to book. Numbers are limited to 6 people to keep the classes exclusive and ensure every participant can receive sufficient coaching.

What should I wear?

Regular gym clothes that you feel comfortable in. Leggings or shorts and a T-shirt or vest.  For footwear, please wear weightlifting shoes if you have them, or shoes with a firm, non-compressible sole, such as metcons, converse, vivo barefoots, or similar. No running shoes or trainers.

I don't want to waste time - my training is important to me and I don't want to do random aimless workouts. Will there be a proper program?

Absolutely yes. Programming and efficacy is Coach Claire's whole MO. The classes will follow a structured, periodised program that tracks workouts and follows essential training principles such as progressive overload, to ensure everyone gets the strength gains they are seeking.
